I always thought I had to make something that “looked” perfect… If it was a face, it should “look” like a real face. But that was my problem… I didn’t have that skill…
So I stopped… I stopped it all because I couldn’t be “perfect”. It didn’t look the way I wanted… Then I realized… I love abstract art. Why don’t I just paint and not worry about it “being” something! And that’s when I found my passion. This is some of the art I’ve created. And even with those that I don’t love enough to be put here, I didn’t throw them away. They’re waiting for me to see if I can make it into something I like better. I can’t wait!
With my first painting with the acrylic medium… well, I just loved it. When I showed my mom, her first question was “What did you name it?” And that was a real mind bender. I know that often artists will name their pieces, but I’d never thought of that. So now, when I really love a piece or it came from a deep place, I name them. I’ve added those names to the pages.
